This page (together with the documents referred to on it) sets out the Terms of Use (“Terms”) to access and use our websites (Macrosynergy, Macrosynergy Research and the Macro Quantamental Academy) (“our Site”) and Services (as defined below) through our Site. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 06994336 and have our registered office at 38 Jermyn Street, London, SW1Y 6DN. Our VAT number is GB401475038. Please read these terms of use carefully before you use our Site or our Services (as defined below).

The Site content includes research articles, academy notebooks (in the form of Jupyter notebooks, HTML or other formats) and tutorials related to (a) the macro quantamental indicators generated by the J.P. Morgan Macrosynergy Quantamental System or “JPMaQS” and accessible through J.P. Morgan Markets (www.jpmm.com) and (b) the development of macro trading factors and use cases. The content is collectively referred to as our “Services”.

Access to JPMaQS macro quantamental indicators requires a licence from J.P. Morgan and is subject to separate terms and conditions provided by J.P. Morgan. Access to the Services does not automatically provide a licence to use J.P. Morgan’s JPMaQS.

The Services provided by Macrosynergy are separate from any business of J.P. Morgan.

The content provided on our Site is intended for use only by investment professionals and is for educational and illustrative purposes only. It does not constitute an invitation or offer to subscribe for or purchase any investment product or service. Before making any investment decisions, investment professionals should conduct their own research and analysis and seek the advice of a qualified financial professional. This material has been provided specifically for the use of the recipient only and must be treated as proprietary and confidential. It may not be passed on, nor reproduced in whole or in part under any circumstances without express written consent from Macrosynergy.  By accessing and using our Site and Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. The Site is intended for business and professional use only and is not made available to anyone who is acting as a consumer within the meaning of the (UK) Consumer Rights Act 2015. By accessing this Site, you confirm that you are not a “consumer” under UK laws and regulations.

Access to our Site is provided free of charge and on a temporary basis to access the Services for your professional use, subject to these Terms.

Our status (and that of any identified contributors) as the authors of content on our site must always be acknowledged.

Our Site and Services are provided on an ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ basis, without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement of intellectual property rights.  You are solely responsible for the consequences of your use of our Services.  We do not guarantee that our website or Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. You acknowledge and understand that our training materials may require you to download and run programs on your computer or device, and that there are potential risks associated with running such programs, including but not limited to damage to your computer or device, loss of data, or exposure to viruses or other harmful components. You are solely responsible for implementing sufficient procedures and checkpoints to satisfy your particular requirements for anti-virus protection and accuracy of data input and output, and for maintaining a means external to our site for any reconstruction of any lost data.

We may make changes to our Site/suspend or withdraw our Site

Our site is made available free of charge.

We may update and change our Site from time to time to reflect changes to our products, our users’ needs and our business priorities or other reasons.

We do not guarantee that our Site, or any content on it, will always be available or be uninterrupted. We may suspend or withdraw or restrict the availability of all or any part of our Site for business and operational reasons. No text or data mining, or web scraping

You shall not conduct, facilitate, authorise or permit any text or data mining or web scraping in relation to our Site or any services provided via, or in relation to, our Site. This includes using (or permitting, authorising or attempting the use of):

  • Any “robot”, “bot”, “spider”, “scraper” or other automated device, program, tool, algorithm, code, process or methodology to access, obtain, copy, monitor or republish any portion of the Site or any data, content, information or services accessed via the same.
  • Any automated analytical technique aimed at analysing text and data in digital form to generate information which includes but is not limited to patterns, trends and correlations.

The provisions in this clause should be treated as an express reservation of our rights in this regard, including for the purposes of Article 4(3) of Digital Copyright Directive ((EU) 2019/790).

This clause shall not apply insofar as (but only to the extent that) we are unable to exclude or limit text or data mining or web scraping activity by contract under the laws which are applicable to us.

Rules about linking to our Site

  • You may link to our home page, provided you do so in a way that is fair and legal and does not damage our reputation or take advantage of it.
  • You must not establish a link in such a way as to suggest any form of association, approval or endorsement on our part where none exists.
  • You must not establish a link to our Site in any website that is not owned by you.
  • Our Site must not be framed on any other site, nor may you create a link to any part of our Site other than the home page.
  • We reserve the right to withdraw linking permission without notice.

User-generated content is not approved by us

This Site may include information and materials uploaded by other users of the Site, including to social media pages, video-sharing sites, bulletin boards and chat rooms. This information and these materials have not been verified or approved by us. The views expressed by other users on our Site do not represent our views or values.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use our Site or Services or use or reliance on any content displayed on our Site.
